Working carer’s program

For carers

The Working Carer’s Program is designed to enable carers who want to work to continue to do so.

The program is designed to ‘plug the gaps’ in the carer’s support system, to help them maintain their position in the workforce. It may involve transporting the care recipient to and from the local day centre, or providing extra support to enable the carer to meet their work commitments.

To be eligible for the Working Carer’s Program you need to be a primary carer of a person who is aged 65 years or older (aged 50 or older if a member of the Aboriginal Community) and in paid employment or training towards employment.

Fees may vary depending on income level and will be discussed at assessment.
